Applications are sought for the position of Finance and Business
Support Analyst Good Shepherd Cork (GSC). GSC is an independent,
Cork-based charity providing a range of residential and outreach
services for women, children and families who are homeless or
vulnerable to homelessness.
Due to the growth in the organisation GSC wish to recruit an
experienced Finance and Business Support Analyst to support the wider
GSC team to achieve the aims of the charity. This is a full-time
permanent position with Good Shepherd Cork. (Applications can be
considered from candidates available on a part-time basis.)
REPORTING TO THE GSC FINANCE AND BUSINESS SUPPORT MANAGER KEY TASKS
INCLUDE:
* Supporting production of management accounts by the external
accounting provider and preparing analysis versus budget
* Preparation of the annual budget for each service and supporting
review and sign off by the Board
* Responsible for Capital Assistance Scheme (CAS) funds
administration to support new refuge developments
* Assisting with returns and requests required by our statutory
funders and auditors
* Finalising sign off of the annual financial statements with our
statutory auditors
* Supporting the CEO and managers with financial aspects of grant
applications and grant reporting requirements
* Reviewing and updating financial policies and procedures
* Assisting with new developments and projects
* Supporting the GSC Finance Manager and CEO with the analysis and
presentation of financial and business support information
* Supporting the GSC Finance Manager and CEO with other tasks as
required
REQUIREMENTS:
* An accounting or business qualification (will consider
part-qualified with considerable relevant experience)
* A minimum of 2 to 3 years finance experience ideally supporting
production of management accounts, managing budgets, producing
financial reports and data analysis
* Experience with management information systems and use of data
analytics including information for business cases, funding
applications and cost effectiveness reviews
* Ability to understand and support our service users
* Strong IT literacy and proficient in the use of MS Office
applications especially excel
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to
connect with colleagues in a variety of roles
* Strategic approach and strong analytical, planning and
decision-making skills
* Highly proficient in spoken and written English
* Problem-solving, listening and questioning skills
* Highly organised, ability to handle multiple tasks with excellent
attention to detail
* Flexibility to handle changing requirements to support the needs
of GSC and it’s service users
* Full clean drivers licence
* Commitment to the vision, mission and values of Good Shepherd
